Womens DayDALLAS and COLOMBO, SRI LANKA – March 15, 2022 – On March 8, millions of people worldwide joined in celebrating International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity, and SYNERGEN is proud to celebrate women’s accomplishments and rally for women’s equality.

The campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2022 is “Break the Bias.” Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Action is needed to level the playing field.

Hettigoda is a powerhouse in wellness tourism in Sri Lanka and abroad and a torchbearer for women’s empowerment and equality.

With more than 20 years of experience in leadership, Hettigoda is an entrepreneur and a director of the Hettigoda Industries Group in Sri Lanka, where she has played a significant role in expanding the credibility and appeal of Ayurveda. Hettigoda has represented numerous boards and councils of organizations that work to empower women, with various accolades spanning her 20-year career. Hettigoda inspired SYNERGEN Health’s female colleagues by sharing how she balanced her career, personal commitments, social responsibilities and kept herself determined to reach her dreams.
