Best Workplaces 2021SYNERGEN Health, a leader in technology and analytics-driven revenue cycle optimization solutions for health care organizations, today announced it has been selected as a top 10 Best IT/ITES Workplace as compiled by Great Place to Work in Sri Lanka. This marks SYNERGEN Health’s fifth consecutive year being recognized by the Great Place to Work program. The list is comprised of organizations that have been certified as a Great Place to Work and showcases areas these organizations perform stronger than others assessed in the same sector.

“With all the challenges businesses faced over the last year due to COVID-19 and economic turndown, it is critical to ensure a strong, stable and supportive environment for your biggest asset—your people,” said Surinda Gunawardena, Managing Director, SYNERGEN Health. “Innovation, collaboration and inclusion are core principles at SYNERGEN Health and drive us forward. We are honored to be named to the Top 10 Best Small and Medium IT/ITES Workplaces by Great Place to Work – Sri Lanka.”

A key factor in SYNERGEN’s continued high employee satisfaction is its award-winning “People Practices” program. This comprehensive Equality Policy has proven to be effective, and covers a wide range of demographics including gender, ethnic origin, religion, age and sexual orientation. SYNERGEN’S “People Practices” contribute to enhancing and driving a better employee experience. Key highlights include:

  • Consistent gender parity with a male/female ratio of 49% to 51%.
  • Equal career progression and salaries across all individuals, with 49% of female employees at mid-management level and 33% at senior management level.
  • Equality in career development training for all staff members.
  • Regular input from team members on corporate processes and implementation of these contributions.

“SYNERGEN Health’s success is largely owed to our strong organizational culture and teamwork,” said Gunawardena. “We will continue to build on this fundamental principle to ensure SYNERGEN Health remains a great place to work for years to come.”

The Great Place to Work model evaluates organizations from both the employee and managerial perspective to gauge employee perception of the workplace experience, in addition to organizational culture and practices established by management. Approximately 4,000 employees from organizations comprised of 20 to 500 staff members were surveyed in 2019-2020, widely measuring employee perception and organizational practices.
